Students from the “Luigi di Savoia” Higher Education Institute in Rieti, accompanied by the Director of Unindustria Rieti, Francesca Rosati, visited the Data Processing Center(DPC) at the Research Center for Innovation on Circular Economy and Wellness.

The CED, owned by the Upper Lazio Science and Technology Park, will be the technological infrastructure to support all other research activities but may also open new horizons for study, innovation and networking.

During the visit, guided by staff from the Center and theUniversity ofTuscia, the students learned about the advanced technologies used in the CED and its potential, which can be flexibly deployed both for complex High Performance Computing (HPC) processing and for General Purpose processing, i.e., for general use as a virtualization system in a broad sense. In the course of the illustration, students were able to learn how the evolution of information technology has produced a change in the way information processing is conceived with the aim of meeting the important demands both in terms of speed and computational capacity.

Students were particularly interested in the potential that a computing framework of this nature offers even on current topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), exploring how this technology can offer maximum flexibility both in terms of performance computing and for generic functions such as Web Applications.

The visit was a unique opportunity for students to get closer to emerging technologies.

Francesca Rosati emphasized the importance of experiences like this in preparing young people for the challenges and opportunities offered by the digital world.
