Center for Innovation Research on Circular Economy and Health (CRIECS)

Founded in 2023 in Rieti, CRIECS represents a hub of excellence dedicated to research and innovation. Born from the collaboration between the University of Tuscia, Sapienza University of Rome and the Science and Technology Park of Upper Lazio, the Center is configured as an integrated platform to promote sustainable development and well-being.

A Network of Laboratories at the Service of the Territory

CRIECS makes use of an inter-university network of high-tech laboratories, open to companies and local entities. These spaces enable the integration of technical expertise and instrumental resources to address strategic challenges related to innovation, competitive improvement of production chains and strengthening of the territorial ecosystem.

Goals and Scope of Research
The Center’s activities are geared toward co-creating innovative solutions with enterprises, aiming to:

  • Fostering the competitive repositioning of industrial sectors.
  • Strengthen the local innovation ecosystem.
  • Accelerating the exploitation of scientific results.
  • To offer support services for the development of established companies, new businesses and innovative startups in the Rieti area.

Research is conducted in an interdisciplinary manner and focuses on strategic issues. The Center has state-of-the-art machinery and equipment to effectively support its lines of inquiry.

The Role of the CED
The Data Processing Center (DPC) forms the technological heart of CRIECS, providing the digital infrastructure needed to collect, analyze and manage data from research activities. This advanced system makes it possible to optimize co-design processes with companies and territorial entities, fostering a dynamic and productive interaction between academic research and industry.
